Being a Board Member of a Non Profit Makes you Feel Good

The #1 joy or just a good feeling is being a volunteer.

I feel great and reinvigorated and so can you!  All too often we are wrapped with our day to day jobs and day to day family responsibilities, we lose track of  finding purpose and reward from helping others. Over the years I have been involved in JCS, a nonprofit organization whose mission, simply said, feeds the hungry, teaches and places people that need jobs, provides services to Holocaust survivors and much more. Just being able to be part of an organization that each day helps, hundreds of people is rewarding. In the past I was the audit committee chair of JCS. Today, we had a mini board retreat where 12 of us discussed one simple concept;  How to have a more active board within the  diverse realm of stewardship? We learned a lot about each other  and we were reminded of our responsibility and reinforced the “how”  to achieve  the goals of JCS through leadership activities. How can all this make you feel great?  Its simple, some people feel great by making a lot money, from running a business or from running in a 5K,   l feel great being when surrounded by people, all of which have a common goal,  to work as a team to sustain the long reaching objectives of helping the less fortunate.

This video shows a meal site where we just served lunch and now dancing with the elderly residents.
